2nd Smart Cities India 2016 Expo to showcase smarter solutions for a better tomorrow

India's leading expo on making Indian cities smarter to feature Smart Cities Awards, Mayor’s Conclave, Smart Transport India, and 2nd Smart Villages

Supporting the Government of India’s smart cities mission, Exhibitions India is organising the 2nd edition of the Smart Cities India 2016 expo. The expo is a three-day exhibition and conference to be held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from 11-13 May 2016 and ICLEI South Asia is a supporting organisation at the event. 

The 2nd edition of the expo will witness, for the first time, the Smart Cities Awards, Mayor’s Conclave and Smart Transport India. Additionally, the 2nd Smart Villages session will continue to build on the idea that India's villages need to be brought into the mainstream of the country's burgeoning economic prosperity.

The expo will also bring government representatives, industry leaders, media, and leading global companies on a common platform to strategize and deliberate on products and services to modernise existing Indian cities.

“The Smart Cities India series of expos, endeavour to bring all stakeholders together on a single platform to find solutions, and to form alliances to build smart, sustainable cities in India,” says Prem Behl, Chairman, Exhibition India Group.

The event is also being supported by the Department of Electronics & Information Technology (Ministry of Communications & Information Technology), Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Ministry of Rural Development.

The 2nd edition of the expo will focus on 14 sectors - water & waste management, environment, clean energy, urban planning, IT & communications, green building, e-governance, smart grid, education and skills to build smart cities, smart manufacturing, make in India, smart health, disaster management, safety and security.
