Emani Kumar has been the Executive Director of ICLEI South Asia since its founding in 2005. He was also appointed as Deputy Secretary General of ICLEI in the year 2013. With degrees in Environmental Management, Environmental Planning and Civil Engineering, Emani has more than eighteen years of professional experience on issues related to climate change policy and planning, local governance, renewable energy and energy efficiency, social accountability, systems management and auditing.

Previously Mr. Kumar has worked with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and also with the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA). Apart from overseeing the organisation's strategic development, he also coordinates various multi-year & small scale projects and research work supported by various donor and UN agencies; State and National governments of India and Research Organizations. He also liaises for various projects like Promoting Low emission Urban Development Strategies in Emerging Economy Countries (Urban LEDS), SUNYA- Towards zero waste in South Asia and more.

In his role as ICLEI Deputy Secretary General, Emani Kumar works with all the offices in Asia, to ensure cohesion in implementation of ICLEI’s agendas and spearhead advocacy activities in the region; he also supports the Secretary General in representing ICLEI at all international fora.

 
 
 
 

SUNANDAN TIWARI

Sunandan joined ICLEI in 2010. He holds a masters degree in Ecology from Salim Ali School of Ecology, Pondicherry University and has over seventeen years of experience in project management and implementation in the development sector.

Sunandan has worked in a wide array of sectors – adaptation to climate change, water resources (rural and urban), sanitation, forestry, renewable energy, environmental services – at various levels. He has also worked very closely with a wide variety of stakeholders – from local communities in different parts of India, Nepal and Vietnam, to government officials at various levels, policy makers, national as well as international researchers and research institutions, UN agencies, corporate agencies and much more.

Working with local governments for the uptake of innovative ideas and practices through effective policy advocacy has been one of the key aspects of his work. Currently at ICLEI South Asia, he is the main lead for urban climate change resilience projects and is responsible for program development.

 
 
 
 

ASHISH RAO GHORPADE

Ashish Rao Ghorpade joined ICLEI in 2008. He is an Architect, Urban and Regional Planner working in the development sector since 2002.

Ashish has been working with Indian cities and believes that influencing the urban transport and urban built environment for low carbon development can go a long way in making cities more livable and sustainable. Previously, he also worked for developing a sector status study and futuristic development path for the Tourism sector for the state of Himachal Pradesh and preparation of the Public Financial Management and Accountability report (India) funded by the World Bank.

Currently at ICLEI South Asia, Ashish manages ICLEI’s urban planning, mobility and green buildings related initiatives in the South Asian region. Ashish also works as lead representative for urban planning, sustainable transport and green buildings related initiatives at ICLEI – South Asia. He has worked in various projects for cities supported by the European Commission, BMU and GIZ Germany, Asia Pacific partnership Program funded by US-DOS, USAID, Climate Works Foundation, Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, British High Commission, GGGI and city members of ICLEI, various state governments and the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.

 
 
 
 

SOUMYA CHATURVEDULA

Soumya joined ICLEI South Asia in September, 2008 as the Manager of our Southern Center in Hyderabad. She has over four years of design engineering experience in the field of solidwaste and water resources management and over 6 years of experience in the field of environmental studies and impact assessments.

Previously, she has been involved in designing municipal sanitary landfills and hazardous waste landfills in various locations in India, Canada and Barbados. She is also specialized in the design of storm drainage systems and hydrological modeling. She is involved in developing capacity building projects with local Government and research Institutes in the fields of sustainable development and environmental management.

Currently at ICLEI South Asia, Soumya is involved in the following projects: ACCESSanitation, Urban Climate Project, Service Level Benchmarking Pilot project, realising DReAMS, EMP Compliance Monitoring in ISWM Facilities, Awareness Programme for Climate Change in West Bengal. She is involved in most of ICLEI South Asia’s projects in a technical capacity.

 
 
 
 

BEDOSHRUTI SADHUKHAN

Bedoshruti joined ICLEI South Asia in August 2007 and has a Masters degree in Environmental Management from the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun. She has more than 10 years experience in the field of environment and project management, especially on environmental justice, environmental impact assessment and public participation in decision making.

She has also researched extensively on the environmental impact assessments of hydropower projects, especially with reference to the north-east region of India and developed a framework for socio-environmental impact assessment of hydropower projects. She has experience of training and capacity building in the field of environmental impact assessment and public participation, environmental law, environmental management systems, climate change adaptation. Along with advocacy and campaigns on environmental issues, she has also previously worked on human rights issues such as housing rights and tribal rights.

Bedoshruti is a key member of the ICLEI South Asia sustainability team. She is managing several long term international projects on environmental management systems for local governments, water and sanitation as well as solid waste management. She is a key member of the ICLEI ACCCRN team and has been working on climate change adaptation in India and Bangladesh under this project. She is also involved in ICLEI South Asia’s membership activities.

 
 
 
 

MEESHA TANDON

Meesha joined ICLEI in October 2012. Her qualifications are B. Architecture, Masters in Environmental Planning and M.Sc. Catchment Dynamics and Management (Leeds University).

As a Consultant/Sub Consultant for IDFC over the last 3 years, she has worked on 14 City Development Plans for MPUSP (Madhya Pradesh Urban Services for the Poor) and Urban Administration and Development Department. She has also worked on preparation of Rain Water Harvesting Primer for JnNURM (Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission) cities for National Institute of Urban Affairs, Delhi. Meesha has also published 3 papers highlighting the importance of water resource management in city planning.

She is currently working on developing ICLEI's water portfolio. She is managing the Project on Adopting Integrated Urban Water Management (AdoptIUWM) funded by EU in 2 cities in Rajasthan and 2 cities in Maharashtra.

 
 
 
 

DR. MONALISA SEN

Monalisa joined ICLEI in July 2015. She has a PhD. In Environmental Sciences (University of Delhi), a Masters degree in Environmental Biology (University of Delhi) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law and Policy (National Law University).

She has been working for over 14 years in the fields of Biodiversity Conservation, Community Development, Enterprise Based Conservation and Restoration Ecology. She has worked across many states in India including Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Orissa, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Kerala and Delhi. She has immense experience of working on issues related to biodiversity conservation in the Eastern Himalayas- a global biodiversity hotspot. She has worked with Centre for Environmental Management of Degraded Ecosystems, University of Delhi; IUCN India and InsPIRE Network for Environment, prior to joining ICLEI.

Currently, Monalisa is working on developing the biodiversity portfolio for ICLEI South Asia.

 
 
 
 

C. SELLAKRISHNAN

C. Sellakrishnan is a postgraduate in Town and Country Planning course from Anna University, Chennai. He has about eight years experience in urban and regional planning projects.

Previously, he has worked on various State and Central Government sponsored Research and consultancy projects such as City Corporate Plans, Traffic Operational and Management Plans (TOMP) etc., as a Project Associate at the Centre for Human Settlements (CHS), Anna University. He joined Speck Systems Ltd Hyderabad in 2006, and has worked on urban projects using satellite imageries, GIS and urban utility mapping jobs.

Currently at ICLEI South Asia, Sellakrishnan has been involved in CCP cities of Coimbatore and Madurai. He has worked on greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and implementation of the GHG emission reduction plans. At present he is working on the Local Renewables Model Communities Network project in Coimbatore City Corporation in Tamil Nadu. 

 
 
 
 

ASHISH VERMA

Ashish joined ICLEI in November 2008 and has a master’s degree in Energy Management from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun.

He has worked on various projects related to climate change (adaptation & mitigation) including mapping of renewable energy potential in cities, identifying potential, action planning and financial modelling, establishing the energy baseline for cities and estimation of GHG inventory after analysing various tools and methodologies suitable for the city governments, has prepared the detailed energy and emissions inventory report for identifying and introducing the renewable energy and energy efficiency measures into city level activities and more.

Currently at ICLEI South Asia, Ashish is working on “Promoting low emission urban development strategies (Urban LEDS)”, “Earth Hour City Challenge” program, MNRE’s “Development of Solar Cities’ Program” etc. He is also actively involved in low carbon urban planning activities. He has also been involved in training programs for the city governments where hands-on training is given to the core groups in the cities on various useful tools to establish the energy and GHG baseline of the cities.

 
 
 
 

RASHMI SINHA

With more than eight years of experience in the field of environment, Rashmi has been a part of the ICLEI family since 2008. She is a post graduate in Environmental science, has diverse expertise in the field of environment and climate change viz. environmental impact assessment (EIA) study, environmental monitoring, city environmental status report, city energy consumption vis-a-vis GHG emission study, mitigation and adaptation action plan, solid waste management, sanitation project, etc. She has extensive experience working hand in hand with the city Governments.


In her earlier years of education She was involved with National Environmental Engineering Research Institute and carried out extensive Environment Impact studies for power sector, Oil and Gas fields, Fertiliser Industries and mining sectors, to name a few. She is currently working with Thane Municipal Corporation in developing green building policies and assessing the techno-economic feasibility of energy efficiency in street lighting in the city. Currently at ICLEI South Asia, she is working as Manager for Maharashtra operations and is actively involved in city Low emission strategy development.

 
 
 
 

VENKATA NIROOP ABBU

Niroop joined ICLEI in October 2008. He is an Urban Planner by profession and has a Master’s degree in Infrastructure Development and Management.

He has over 8 years of experience in the field of Rural and Urban Planning with experience on projects like Infrastructure Development Plans, Regional Development Plans, Spatial Development Plans, City Sanitation Plans, Real Estate Feasibility Studies, Optimal Landuse and Feasibility Studies for Integrated Townships for Mixed Landuse Development Projects and Detailed and Conceptual Master Plans. His experiences on large scale infrastructure development projects with government as well as globally acclaimed multi-disciplinary consulting firms, have enabled him to provide solutions on diverse challenges of Community, Rural and Urban infrastructure developments.

Currently at ICLEI South Asia, he is assisting the project team in the development of the HEAT+ software – a GHG Emissions and Mitigation analysis tool and is also involved in developing City Sanitation Plan for Nellore City (Andhra Pradesh).

 
 
 
 

RITU THAKUR

Ritu joined ICLEI South Asia in October 2010. She is a master in Water Resources Management from TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) University, and holds a B.Sc. Zoology Honors degree from Miranda House, University of Delhi. She has experience in projects related to closure and rehabilitation of landfills, testing and extraction of landfill gases and other solid waste management projects in various locations in India.

During her major project at TERI, she worked on a project under Yamuna Action Plan II where she carried out a gap analysis in municipal solid waste management in towns of Haryana vis-à-vis MSW Rules, 2000.Her primary area of interest lies in urban services, environment planning, climate change and sustainability.

 
 
 
 

RAMIZ KHAN

Ramiz joined ICLEI South Asia in October 2010 and has a Master’s degree in Environment Management from Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM) Kolkata. He has more than 5 years of experience in the field of Environment and Sustainability Management. His prior experience includes a stint at the People’s Science Institute (PSI), Dehradun.

He has been associated in different thematic sectors such as Climate Change Adaptation, Sanitation, Environmental Assessments, Natural Resource Management, Watershed Management, Capacity Building and Planning for alternative livelihood promotion. He has experience of working with wide range of different kind of stakeholders – right from the local community to the Elected members, Government Officials at different level in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and other national as well as international NGOs/Doner agencies etc.

Currently, at ICLEI, he assists the team in most of the Climate Change Adaptation and Sanitation - mainly Solid Waste Management related projects.

 
 
 
 

RUCHITA BANSAL

Ruchita joined ICLEI in October 2015. She is an architect and holds a master degree in environmental planning from CEPT University, Ahmedabad. She has over 8 years of experience in urban planning, transport research and various aspects of policy making.

Before joining ICLEI, Ruchita worked with Centre for Science and Environment for 5 years. There, she was engaged in policy advocacy on promoting sustainable transportation modes, organizing city workshops and conferences and preparing modules for capacity building workshops. “Right to Walk” and “Road Safety Campaign” were among her major work areas.

Besides, she has also been a regular contributor for Down to Earth magazine, a leading science and environment fortnightly in India.

At ICLEI, she is responsible for providing advocacy and technical advisory on smart urban mobility and built environment support to Indian cities under the Smart City Mission. The project aims at building city authorities and stakeholder capacity to develop smart built environment action plans that can feed into ongoing efforts of smart city programme.

 
 
 
 

NIKHIL KOLSEPATIL

Nikhil joined ICLEI South Asia in November 2013 and has a Master’s degree in Energy Technology from the Asian Institute of Technology (A.I.T), Thailand and a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has diverse experience in areas of energy, climate change, low emission development and green growth in his work spanning 4 years. He has proven experience of working with city governments, international organizations, multilateral and national agencies, non-governmental organizations, research organizations and businesses. Nikhil was previously working as an Energy Specialist with Environmental Management Centre (EMC), a Mumbai based private consulting firm. He is also a certified lead auditor for ISO 50001 Energy Management System (EnMS).

At ICLEI, Nikhil is involved in the “Promoting low emission urban development strategies (Urban LEDS)” project, the “Urban Green Growth Strategies for Indian cities” project and is currently assisting in climate action planning for the Melaka province in Malaysia while also providing technical inputs for ICLEI's GHG emissions inventory tool HEAT+.

 
 
 
 

VANI MANOCHA

Nearly six years of her work experience in media and communication includes stints at The Times of India and Down To Earth (Centre for Science and Environment). At both these organisations, she has worked intensively with the web teams. At Down To Earth, Vani also contributed writings for the magazine and annual books (State of India Environment Report 2015 & 2016).

Besides, she is also a trained teacher. She just graduated as a LEAD India Fellow, Cohort 17 where she attended intensive trainings on climate change and related themes, travelling across India to work on region-specific challenges.

Vani has joined ICLEI as communication manager and she looks forward to a great learning experience working with planners, engineers and sustainability enthusiasts here.

 
 
 
 

KESHAV JHA

Keshav joined ICLEI in 2011. He holds a Master's in Environmental Studies from the School of Environment Studies (SES), University of Delhi and two Postgraduate Diploma in Urban Planning & Development and Environmental Law & Management and an Appreciation program in Sustainability Sciences.

Keshav is a Climate Reality Leader trained by Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and has a four and a half years of experience in the Greenhouse Gases (GHG) Emissions Accounting, Urban Low Emission and Climate Resilience Development planning. Previously, he has been working in the sustainable development sector with organizations like the World Wildlife Fund -India,Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Ltd., Toxic's Link etc.

Currently at ICLEI South Asia, Keshav is an integral part for most projects and programms on Low-carbon Climate-resilient Development. He is also currently preparing the Delhi State Action Plan on Climate Change (SAPCC) with the Department of Environment, Government of Delhi as per the guidelines of Ministry of Environment & Forest, Government of India. He has also been associated with ‘Quantification of Mitigation Intervention of Delhi City as a Whole’ wherein he inventorised Delhi's Greenhouse Gas Emission and critically analyzed the Delhi government mitigation interventions. 

 
 
 
 

TEJAS SHINDE

Tejas joined ICLEI South Asia in 2014. His area of interest are solar energy and other renewable energy sources. He completed his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from University of Pune and has an experience in designing, detailing and execution of two solar thermal power plants during his 4 years of association with IIT Bombay.

He has also conducted training programs for IIT students on operation and maintenance of solar thermal power plants.

Currently, at ICLEI South Asia, Tejas is contributing through projects such as Urban LEDS and Solar City Master Plant. He assists the entire team in developing low emission, energy efficient and renewable energy solutions for cities.

 
 
 
 

GEETA SANDAL

Geeta joined ICLEI in 2014. She is a proud owner of two Master’s degrees - Environmental Planning from Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) University, Ahmedabad, and a Masters in Geography from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. She has also done a Post Graduate Diploma in Geo-Informatics form GIS Development in collaboration with Salzburg University Austria.

Geeta has six years of experience in the field of operational research, urban development and planning, environment impact assessment, sustainable development and climate change, and has worked various on research projects related to Climate Resilient Urban Development, Sustainable Cities and Disaster Risk Assessment, Urban Development and Management. She also has an experience of working with Urban Development Departments and Urban Local Bodies for research and training activities.

Currently at ICLEI South Asia, she is a Senior Project Officer for the project dealing with Integrated Urban Water Management System for Indian cities.

 
 
 
 

MD. JUBAER RASHID

Jubaer joined ICLEI South Asia in 2015. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Urban and Rural Planning from Khulna University, Khulna, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Development Planning from National Academy for Planning and Development, Ministry of Planning, Bangladesh. He is also pursuing a Masters in Disaster Management in University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and have certification in Management of Land Acquisition, Resettlement and Rehabilitation by World Bank.

Jubaer has eight years of experience in the field of urban planning, development research, and geographical information system. He has worked in various municipal master plan projects by Local Government & Engineering Department in Bangladesh. Major roles have been taken in Sonargaon, Mirzapur, Monohordi, and Sreepur Municipality in preparation of 20 years of infrastructure development master plan. Also have taken major roles in energy sector, where he prepared two divisional (Jessore & Bogra) electrical GIS route profiles on the basis suitable location and their physical sustainability in assistance with JICA.

Currently at ICLEI South Asia, he is a Senior Project Officer for the project dealing with ICLEI ACCCRN Process in various cities of Bangladesh.

Vijay joined ICLEI South Asia in August 2013. He is a Civil Engineer with Master’s degree in infrastructure planning from Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) University, Ahmedabad.

Vijay has over 2 years of experience in the field of urban development and management, and has worked on infrastructure and management aspects of various projects in more than 15 cities, which includes Freight management, Infrastructure improvement, pedestrian infrastructure for heritage area, City Development Plan, Circulation plan, Management plan, Financial feasibilities, Road network geometrics, Traffic impact assessment and decongestion and Urban Green Growth.

RITHIKA FERNANDES

Rithika holds a master's degree in conservation biology and a post graduate diploma in research methodology, specialising in natural resource management from James Cook University, Townsville Australia. Her minor project looked at the “Role of top predators in stabilising populations of macropods and contributing to better economic management of sheep stations”.

After working for two years in management sector in Australia, Rithika joined research organisation SaciWATERs where she worked on projects dealing with capacity building in IWRM and water quality.

At ICLEI, she works with the sustainability team on ACCCRN portfolio and Misereor project.

 
 
 
 

SHRADDHA JAIN

Shraddha joined ICLEI South Asia in February 2016. She is an architect with a Master’s degree in Urban Transport Planning and Management from Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) University, Ahmedabad.

NAGENDRAN NAGARAJAN

Nagendran Nagarajan holds a Masters in Spatial Information Technology from Madras University, an MSc in environmental science and a BSc in Geography. His project with the Tamil Nadu Institute of Urban Studies and the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation involved urban environmental planning, specifically land use assessment and the planning of cities. He has also worked as a GIS engineer for the development of a parcel mapping and 3D building in Manila, Philippines and as part of a US government project with Magnasoft Consulting India.

 
 
 
 

RAHUL SINGH

Rahul joined ICLEI in May 2012 and has a Masters degree in Environmental Management. Previously, he has worked as an Environment Auditor and audited top hotels situated nearby National parks of India. He assisted them to manage their Solid Waste, Energy and Water Consumption. He has also worked in water and air labs of Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC, Govt. of NCT). Rahul has experience in the field of training and capacity building in the field of Sustainable Management and has a working knowledge of GIS.

Currently, in ICLEI South Asia, he is involved in environmental sustainability projects focusing on environmental management, water, solid waste, and climate adaptation and also with CPHEEO Manual on Municipal Solid Waste Management, SUNYA- Towards zero waste and Realising DReAMS projects.

 
 
 
 

RAHUL RATHI

He Joined ICLEI South Asia on 17th June 2013. He has a background in Geography with a Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning from CEPT University. Previously, he has worked on Arc GIS and Auto CAD.
He has a good understanding of Urban and Regional Planning. He has worked on preparing Urban Development Plan for Kathmandu (Nepal) during his masters.
He has completed his internship at PAS (Performance Assessment System) and during Internship of two months he worked for City Sanitation Plan in two cities of Gujarat.

He represents ICLEI in Rajasthan and is presently involved in Integrated Urban Water Management (AdoptIUWM). He is working for Rajasthan cities, Kishangarh and Jaisalmer, and helps in organising workshops.

 
 
 
 

NIKHIL SHIRISH KULKARNI

Nikhil joined ICLEI in July 2013. He has a Masters degree in Technology (M.Tech) in Environmental Engineering. Previously, he has worked as an engineer (Environment) at Ambuja Cement Limited and as a Research Engineer at the Center for Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. He has an experience of Air pollution/ dispersion modelling, GHG analytics, carbon credits, life cycle assessment in the field of environment and also worked on implementation of national lake conservation plan at various lakes in India. He has also worked on environmental legislation, industrial environmental performance, environmental planning, sustainable development and environmental audits. He has also worked with national and grassroots NGOs in the field of resource conservation, wild life conservation and awareness activities.

Currently at ICLEI South Asia, Nikhil is a representative for project cities in Maharashtra and is involved in Urban LEDS, AdoptIUWM and Development of Solar City projects.

 
 
 
 

SONALI MALIK

Sonali joined ICLEI in 2014. She has done her Masters in Environmental Planning from CEPT University, Ahmedabad and Bachelors in Planning from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.

During her Bachelors, she has worked on developing a primer on Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction - Experiences and Lessons Learnt in Western Rajasthan. Sonali has also been an intern at ICLEI South Asia where she was involved in studying the Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) submitted by different countries.

Currently at ICLEI South Asia, she is associated with projects relating to Energy and Climate Change mitigation. Being skilled in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) across various levels/sectors and preparation of Environmental Management Plans (EMP), she has also been a part of the “Environmental Management Action Plan for Amritsar and Ludhiana” project.

Ankit joined ICLEI in 2014. He holds a Masters degree in Environmental Planning from CEPT University Ahmedabad and a Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering. Also, he is now pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Laws and Policy.

Ankit has worked in various sectors – Air pollution, Capacity Building, Road safety audit, Heritage conservation and Environmental services – at various levels. He has also worked very closely with a variety of stakeholders – from local communities, government officers and officials at various levels, and Urban Local Bodies of Gujarat.

Currently at ICLEI South Asia, he is the lead for the Urban LEDS implementation in Rajkot City, Gujarat.
Working with local governments for undertaking innovative ideas for sustainable development and enhancing the environmental condition of Rajkot are few of the key aspects of his work.

 
 
 
 

ANUDEEP KONIKI

Anudeep joined ICLEI South Asia in March 2016 and works with the urban team at the Delhi office. He is a civil engineer and would be actively involved in the Smart City Program at ICLEI.

He pursued his Masters in Urban Transport Planning and Management from CEPT University in 2015. Previously, he has also worked as a transport planner for Metro Extension for Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad (MEGA), responsible for the transportation and traffic management plans for the construction site. Besides, he has also been involved in preparation of Metro feasibility report for Surat.

Here, he would work for Kakinada and Visakhapatnam municipal corporations, for projects being executed with support from Shakti Foundation.

 

 

 
 
 
 

RAJAT KAPOOR

Rajat joined ICLEI in December 2015 as an intern and since than he is part of ICLEI's urban team. Rajat is having his first degree in architecture and masters in Urban Development & Management from dept. of policy studies at TERI University. Before perusing his master’s degree, he has worked for four years in building sector as an architect and project manager with renowned design consultancies and corporate entity.

During his internship at South Delhi Municipal Corporation he has worked on issue of Solid Waste Management where he advocated inclusions of provisions in building bylaws promoting efficiency in waste management. As part of his major projects at TERI he worked on topics like Impact of Delhi's urban development on Yamuna flood plains, Competitiveness of Faridabad city in Delhi NCR and GIS based analysis of extinct water bodies of Delhi.

At ICLEI he is working as Project Associate – Urban in the direction of promoting integrated approach towards urban development and strengthening capacities of urban local bodies. Through smart city projects he is advocating strategies to promote resource efficiency and long term sustainability in Indian Cities.

 

 

 
 
 
 

Souhardo Chakraborty

Souhardo joined ICLEI South Asia in September 2016. Before this he had worked with WRI India and IIM Ahmedabad. He has almost three years of work experience in the field of urban development. His expertise also includes environment planning, logistics management, and land management. He is a Master of Planning graduate from CEPT University Ahmedabad, and a Master of Science graduate from Presidency University, Kolkata. He has several publications to his name including a World Bank and an IIM paper.

Dhriti Jade

Dhriti joined ICLEI South Asia in September 2016 . She holds a Masters degree in Urban Planning with specialization in Infrastructure Planning from CEPT University, Ahmedabad. Having pursued B.Arch. from Pune University, she is also a certified Architect.

Previously, she had been associated with AIILSG as a Research Associate where she worked on 'Revision of Draft Development Plan 2034 of Greater Mumbai'. Her engagement in drafting of revised DDP has gained her experience in working with planning authorities, government officials and public grievances. She has also worked on “Road Map to Climate Resilient And Smart Cities in Karnataka” with CSTEP Bangalore.

Dhriti has two years of work experience in Architecture and Planning and has worked in various infrastructure sectors including Water and sanitation , Solid waste management , City Sanitation Plans , IWRM, Feasibility study and Urban Governance.

Currently at ICLEI, she is working as a Project Associate on “Integrated Resource Management in Asian Cities : the Urban Nexus” funded by GIZ with Nagpur Municipal Corporation.

Sasi joined ICLEI South Asia in February 2012. He has over 15 years of work experience in the designing of print publications such as newsletters, brochures, annual reports, posters, calendars and other print collaterals, training manuals, and policy briefs. He has worked on various design software like Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Illustrator, etc. He has previously worked with Winrock International India and Development Alternatives.

Currently at ICLEI South Asia, Sasi manages the designing of reports, documents, E-newsletter, brochures and any other publication, taking care of membership, assisting in organising conferences and other daily admin work.

He has an experience of more than 3 years in the field of accounts & finance and has worked with Indiabulls (HO) & in Unicon Investment Solutions (HO) as an accounts executive where his responsibilities included stocks and book debt audit of various companies on behalf of Syndicate Bank, OBC, Vijaya Bank through a CA Firm.
