High Ambition Leadership Group Dialogue: Regional Hub to Work towards Zero-Emission Transport Vision
The second roundtable dialogue of the Asia Clean Mobility High Ambition Leadership Group ended with a consensus to form a regional cooperation hub, to achieve regional and sub-regional visions for transition towards net-zero emissions in transport systems through common technical trainings, peer learnings and collaboration.
The dialogue was organised by the Asia LEDS Partnership, in collaboration with the Global Climate Action Partnership (formerly LEDS Global Partnership) and technical partners National Renewable Energy Laboratory and SLOCAT Partnership, on the 6th and 7th of September 2022 in New Delhi. It was hosted by NITI Aayog and supported by the US Department of State.
Representatives from the transport ministries of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Laos PDR, Sri Lanka and Thailand attended the dialogue in person, while representatives from Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam participated online. They discussed the priority needs of the nine participating countries to decarbonise the transport sector and to identify common challenges and opportunities that could be harnessed at a regional scale.
