This project aims to support Indian cities to develop sustainable, resilient and climate sensitive infrastructure. The project will dovetail with SDC’s CapaCITIES project, but will expand the outreach of the existing CapaCITIES project to target an additional five to eight cities. The learnings will then be disseminated to a wider audience, within India and the surrounding region. By establishing a dialogue between local financial players, public sector actors and project developers, the project will lead to increased local understanding of sustainability, resilience and climate issues related to infrastructure; assisting project developers to improve the design of their projects accordingly; facilitation of increased financing of these improved infrastructure projects; supporting the implementation and monitoring of SMART Cities and AMRUT initiatives in India; and catalyzing similar change in other cities within India and the broader region.
