CDKN is a global Southern-led network founded in 2010 to advance climate-resilient development in the global South. The programme is managed by SouthSouthNorth, and implemented in partnership with Fundación Futuro Latinoamericano (FFLA) and ICLEI South Asia. It will cover South Asia, South Africa and Latin America as the target regions.
While the initial focus of CDKN was on technical assistance, it has moved towards knowledge brokering on climate change in the later phase. In the current phase (Phase III), over five years (2022-27), CDKN will focus on advancing equitable, financed and ecosystem-based action on climate change. CDKN is co-funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) through the Step Change Initiative, which aims to accelerate equitable and inclusive locally-led adaptation.
