Development of Climate Resilient City Action Plan for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation

The project aims to support GHMC in the development of a Climate Resilient City Action Plan (CRCAP) for Hyderabad city. The project will help the city’s administration to understand and effectively respond to climate change risks and impacts for the community and municipal utilities, while reducing its city-wide GHG emissions aimed towards a net-zero emissions target.

Objectives and Outputs

• Development of city level GHG emission inventories (GPC compliant) and climate change vulnerability assessment.
• Modelling and development of GHG emission scenarios.
• Identification of goals, targets and strategies for GHG emission reduction and climate adaptation.
• Preparation of net-zero CRCAP report, including climate actions, enabling governance and monitoring mechanisms.
• Facilitation support to GHMC to sign-up to Global Convenant of Mayors (GCoM) and report its climate data.
