Project Summary

The project aims at mainstreaming biodiversity conservation in Noida through development of City Biodiversity Index and Local Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan. An illustrated natural asset map of Noida will also be developed. Ecosystem service assessment of two restored sites- an urban forest and a wetland will also be carried out.

 

Key Objectives

The overall aim of the project is to mainstream biodiversity conservation into urban planning and promote the conservation of natural resources.

The specific objectives are:

  1. Conducting a baseline assessment of biodiversity governance in the city of Noida.
  2. Development of a long-term strategy to integrate biodiversity conservation into urban planning in the city of Noida.
  3. Awareness generation on the blue-green ecosystems and the biodiversity in the city among stakeholders (including city officials and citizens).
  4. Defining conservation value of urban forests and wetlands.
