Surat Climate Action Plan

The project aims to support Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) in the development of a Climate Resilient City Action Plan (CRCAP) for Surat city. The CRCAP targets both climate adaptation and mitigation, with the project providing technical assistance to identify and recommend specific institutional, monitoring, policy measures.

Objectives and Outputs

• Development of city level GHG emission inventories (GPC compliant) and climate change vulnerability assessment.
• Modelling and development of GHG emission scenarios.
• Identification of goals, targets and strategies for GHG emission reduction and climate adaptation.
• Preparation of net-zero CRCAP report, including climate actions, enabling governance and monitoring mechanisms.
