Under2Coalition: MRV in developing and newly industrialised countries

Providing support and guidance to target countries (India, Brazil, Mexico and South Africa) and exploring approaches to support vertically integrated climate action through dialogues and capacity building on multi-level governance and reporting.

Objectives and Outputs

• Support the mapping of government stakeholders at the national, states and local level in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal: the mandates, roles, responsibilities of different levels and how they interact.
• Support the development of a multi-level governance assessment framework that is appropriate to the Indian context.
• Liaise with the national and local government in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal and assisting in organizing 3 multi-level governance policy and strategy dialogues.
• Provide inputs towards the guidance document on vertical integration of MRV systems for the national government of India.
