The overall objective of the assignment is to develop a robust and practical handbook on current practices and business models for the municipal solid waste processing technologies including bio-methanation, composting, material recovery facility (MRF) and low-value plastic recycling.
As a technical knowledge partner, ICLEI South Asia will support GIZ in conducting in-depth research on existing practices and prevalent business models for the identified processing technologies; bring first-hand experiences of the sectoral experts and collate all the information to develop a handbook.
The handbook will be utilised to generate awareness and capacitate decision-makers, policy-makers and other stakeholders and actors involved in the waste landscape, thereby also contributing to the country’s progress on the Swacch Bharat Mission.
Output:
Business model handbook on successful and implementable business models for four processing technologies, i.e., bio-methanation, composting, material recovery facility (MRF) and low-value plastic recycling.
