Over half of land-based plastic waste in the oceans comes from five countries in Asia and four of which are in Southeast Asia (SEA) — Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. India generates 15 million tonnes of plastic waste every year but only one-fourth of this is recycled. The overall objective is to identify and develop investment-ready potential projects that help in preventing leakage of plastic in the environment and promote circular solutions.
