Building City Leadership on Clean Air Action in Delhi National Capital Region (NCR)

ICLEI South Asia aims to support the Municipal corporations of the cities within Delhi NCR to take ownership of their actions related to air quality improvement by creating awareness and facilitating coordination within various implementing agencies to develop replicable, tried, and tested approaches through pilot interventions.

Main expected outcomes

The objectives of this grant are:

• Municipal Corporations of cities in Delhi NCR region build pathways to improve air quality.
• Cities implement air quality projects to demonstrate success.
• Increase in knowledge sharing among cities on air quality action.

The intended project outcomes are:

• At least two pilot projects successfully funded and completed with measurable impact on Air Pollution.
• Additional funding leveraged from CII-CAF India CEO Forum.
• Cities develop actionable plans and pathway to improve air quality by unlocking available resources, potential partnerships and national government assistance.

Status/Outputs

• The project team is working on background research on good practices adopted by cities to improve air quality.
• The team is also working on compiling the information related to air quality trends in the cities of Delhi NCR.
