CDKN Writeshop Discusses Gender Inclusive Adaptation Planning
A writeshop was conducted under the Climate Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) – Knowledge Accelerator (KA) project on the 17th and 18th of September, 2019 at the Overseas Development Institute (ODI), London.
ICLEI South Asia, along with our partners – ODI and Fundación Futuro Latinoamericano (FFLA) -participated in the writeshop. The writeshop aimed to finalise training modules on Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI) that would be used for providing regional and national level trainings under the project.
Brainstorming sessions were used to fill in knowledge gaps in the draft modules. The regional partners identified relevant information from their focus countries to be incorporated in the modules.
The teams also discussed the need to develop knowledge products that are vital for gender inclusive adaptation planning, keeping in mind the country-specific needs, status of development as well as the current capacity of the local authorities, decision makers and stakeholders.
The GESI modules will be used in upcoming training programmes In Ethiopia and India under CDKN Knowledge Accelerator Project.
