The Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Shri Manoj Sinha released the City Biodiversity Index of the cities of Jammu and Srinagar on the International Day of Forests (March 21) in Jammu.
ICLEI South Asia has developed the City Biodiversity Index for the two cities, with support from the United Nations Development Programme and in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Biodiversity Council. Developed and maintained by the Singapore National Parks Department, with support from ICLEI, the Convention on Biological Diversity, and other organisations, the City Biodiversity Index is the only index designed specifically for monitoring and evaluating biodiversity in cities.
