Project Summary
Performance-based grant has been allocated by MoEFCC to Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation under 15th Finance Commission to improve Ambient Air Quality within Municipal Corporation limits through establishing and strengthening institutional mechanisms, preparation of micro action plan, identifying hotspots, implementation of actions/ interventions to reduce air pollution, monthly monitoring and reporting in predefined formats to GPCB as well as to the implementation committee every three months, etc. Over the years, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has taken several initiatives to implement the air quality management system and control the air pollution in Ahmedabad city. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has hired a technical consultant for support to strengthen institutional mechanism, analyse the baseline situation and identify hotspot areas, and prepare a strategic action plan to improve the air quality of Ahmedabad city.
